Salams Connect: Path to Stability Program

Why This Program Exists

The journey from incarceration back into the community is fraught with challenges, often leading to isolation and re-offending. For Muslim individuals, these barriers are often compounded by stigma, limited access to faith-based support, and a lack of culturally sensitive guidance.

Salams Connect: Path to Stability is built on the belief that everyone deserves a second chance and the tools to maintain a righteous, stable life. The term Salams, meaning peace, encapsulates our core mission: to restore tranquility and stability to the lives of those returning home and to the communities that welcome them. We provide the essential bridge required for a successful transition.

Who We Help

This program is specifically designed for Muslim individuals (men and women) who are nearing release or have recently been released from Australian correctional facilities and require practical, spiritual, and social support to reintegrate successfully into society.

What The Program Offers

Program Focus: Re-entry support, faith-based mentorship, and practical assistance for Muslim individuals released from correctional facilities, ensuring successful and stable community integration.

  • Community Integration

We build a social safety net by connecting individuals directly with local Mosques and community groups to prevent isolation and ensure long-term, supportive belonging.

  • Mental Health & Faith Support

We provide confidential referrals to culturally sensitive mental health professionals and connect individuals with trusted Imams and mentors for spiritual guidance and stability.

  • Stable Housing

We provide critical advocacy and referrals to secure immediate crisis, transitional, and long-term accommodation, addressing the urgent need for a safe home.

  • Job & Skills Support

We provide referrals to local employment providers that can assist with resume building, job skills training, and direct links to community employers to achieve economic independence.

Eligibility & Application Process

To be eligible, applicants must be Muslim individuals nearing release (typically within 3 months) or recently released from an Australian correctional facility.

The application and assessment process is handled with the utmost confidentiality by our dedicated Salams rehabilitation team.
