For many, the simple act of putting food on the table or ensuring children have adequate clothing can be an insurmountable challenge. Imagine fleeing with nothing but the clothes on your back, leaving everything behind, only to be confronted by the brutal reality of homelessness. Now, add the crushing weight of Australia’s rising cost of living crisis, making it nearly impossible for a single woman with children to meet even the most basic needs on survival income. Our founder, Sumaya, intimately understands this precise, gnawing anxiety. Her own journey, escaping violence with infants and facing immediate destitution, revealed the critical gaps in providing quick, dignified access to essentials. This deeply personal encounter with desperate material need, against the backdrop of an escalating national crisis, ignited Sumaya’s profound resolve. She transformed her struggle into a mission: to ensure no woman or child endures the terrifying uncertainty of not being able to secure their fundamental necessities alone.
The Livelihood Lifeline program is dedicated to women and children who are struggling to meet their basic living needs. We particularly focus on those from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and Muslim communities across Australia, recognising the unique cultural, linguistic, and systemic barriers they often face in accessing essential support. Our program is specifically tailored to bridge these gaps.
We provide immediate and dignified relief through Essentials Support Vouchers, empowering individuals to access what they need most:
Vouchers allow families to purchase essential items like fresh groceries, nutritious food, appropriate clothing, and urgent household necessities from participating stores.
Assistance with critical household bills, such as electricity or gas, to prevent disconnection and alleviate financial stress.
Support for school supplies, uniforms, or educational resources to ensure children can participate fully in their learning journey.
Providing flexibility to address a family's most pressing needs, helping to restore stability and peace of mind.

Your financial support directly fuels the “Livelihood Lifeline” program, enabling us to distribute essential support vouchers to vulnerable women and children. You can contribute through general donations (Sadaqah) or by utilising your Zakat.
Do you operate businesses where vouchers can be redeemed, or offer goods/services that can help meet essential needs? We welcome partnerships with supermarkets, clothing stores, utility providers, or other essential service businesses. Your participation provides dignified access to vital resources for families in need.
Support families in crisis through the Livelihood Lifeline Program. Your partnership helps provide essentials vouchers that offer immediate relief and restore dignity for those rebuilding their lives.
