For too long, addressing mental health within many Australian Muslim and CALD communities has been shrouded in silence and stigma. There’s often been a misconception that faith alone should suffice, leading individuals to suffer in isolation. Our founder, Sumaya, understands that true healing encompasses every facet of a person’s well-being. Having navigated immense personal trauma and systemic failures, she recognised the critical need for a space where mental health is acknowledged and supported with dignity, without judgment. Sumaya’s own experiences spurred her to gain postgraduate qualifications in rehabilitation, including a deep understanding of mental health. This program is born from a positive shift towards embracing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, ensuring that vulnerable women and children can access the accredited, culturally sensitive support they deserve. It’s about breaking down barriers to open conversations and fostering true inner peace.
The Mental Wellness Pathway Program is dedicated to vulnerable women and children from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, including the Australian Muslim community, who are experiencing mental health challenges. We recognise the unique cultural and linguistic sensitivities required to provide effective and trusted support within these communities.
We endeavour to provide access to accredited services and resources that foster individual growth, enhance mental well-being, and strengthen spiritual connections:
Directly Providing or connecting individuals with qualified mental health professionals and culturally sensitive support services.
Programs and resources designed to nurture individual growth, enhance emotional resilience, and strengthen spiritual connections in a supportive environment.
Through social media or collaborative efforts with local Islamic, non-governmental, and governmental organisations, we actively raise awareness about mental health issues, working to remove stigma and foster open dialogue within the broader community.
